今回紹介する曲は、クイーンの「Don't Stop Me Now 」です。
この曲は、サウンドの楽しさも秀逸ですが、歌詞の面白さは群を抜いています。主人公であろうミスター・ファーレンハイトは華氏200℃(摂氏約93℃)にまで達した制御不能のロケット。縦横無尽に飛びまわって、その動きはもはや誰も止められないでしょう。
歌詞に出てくる、レディ・ゴダイヴァは11世紀のイギリスに実在した伯爵夫人です。
実はこの曲下ネタも含まれていて、恍惚状態で空中を浮遊しながら夜空を飛び越える、流星はタイガー(スラングで絶倫と言った意味💦)
有名な曲ですが、まさかこういった下ネタも含まれているような曲だったなんて知らなかったという方もいるのではないでしょうか？😅✨
そんな曲ですが、それに負けないサウンドの軽快さや楽しさ、歌詞の面白さから日本でもたびたび企業のCMソングとして使われて、クイーンの代表曲の1つにもなっています。
